Handmade in Long Eaton

Our furniture is not just British made, it is designed and hand-made in our factory in Long Eaton, an East Midlands town which borders both Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire and which has been known for generations as the centre of upholstery manufacturing in England.

For almost a century, Long Eaton has built a worldwide reputation for producing some of finest upholstered furniture money can buy and is home to some of the best known upholstery brands. Long Eaton made upholstery can be found in the finest retail stores, furnishers, interior design studios and hotels in the UK. Long Eaton made furniture is regularly exported and will also be found in many British and foreign embassies and in some of the world’s finest hotels. It is estimated that upholstery sales from furniture made in Long Eaton is in excess of £500 million per year. In Long Eaton today, over 2,700 people are employed in the upholstery industry and it is estimated that turnover of these companies is in excess of £250 million.

In 2014, the Long Eaton Chamber of Trade started a programme of getting recognition for the upholstery manufacturing industry based in the town. In July 2015, the Chamber was successful in its aim of Long Eaton becoming officially recognised as a Centre of Excellence in Upholstery Manufacturing and its own registered Trade Mark and logo was created. Only companies manufacturing within the boundaries of Long Eaton are able to use the brand and furniture displaying the logo is a guarantee that it has been, or will be made in Long Eaton.

As a founder member of Long Eaton Furniture Makers and a proud supporter of the initiative, you will see the official Long Eaton logo (as seen below) on every piece of furniture we produce.
